적원 — The Accumulated Grudge
A thousand years of kilns, fortresses, temples and graves under the site. The files call what the land carried 적원 — accumulated grudge. This entry has no date because it has no beginning.
Construction
An ordinary mid-rise complex, built fast and cheap during the urbanization drive. Families move in. Every inspection report is normal.
변고 — The Calamity
The building turns. Mass evacuation, sealed within days. No two witness statements agree. Locals call it 거둠 — the gathering-in: the word for a harvest, and for collecting the dead.
Quarantine · First Demolition Fails
The exclusion zone goes up. The first demolition attempt fails; how is redacted in every surviving copy. Crews declined to return.
Classified Research
Government teams enter under classification. Several researchers do not exit. Requests for their files are answered, occasionally, by documents nobody requested.
The Explorer Era
Urban explorers and journalists go in. The first cursed Polaroids leak out. Red envelopes begin appearing at the perimeter, addressed to residents who never came out.
Demolition Halted Forever
A second demolition attempt ends with worker casualties. The file is the thickest in the archive and the least legible. No third attempt was ever proposed.
The Digital Leak
Scans of the Polaroids circulate online. Viewers report symptoms. A phrase recurs in the files from here on: the building does not come to you. It makes you come to it.
AR Experiments — Halted
Augmented-reality trials with recovered media are run and stopped. The one surviving memo ends mid-sentence: participants requested to remain.
The Lure
The pull reaches outward through dreams and media — always drawing inward, never spreading. Survey teams no longer agree on the floor count. Descendants dream of a younger sibling on the stairs, asking: 왔어?
